Liberty successfully participated in the Young Interns Program

June - August 2014

Young Interns Program ("YIP") is a Zorig Foundation initiated program seeking to bring together some of the brightest Mongolian students studying abroad and domestically to participate in an internship program at Mongolia's most influential organizations for a two-month period.

Having supported Mongolian young leaders since its establishment, Liberty Partners proudly participated in the YIP by engaging an intern selected by the Zorig Foundation in a hands-on internship program at the company. The intern was Ms. Enkhjargal Batbold, a rising senior at the University of Miami, Florida, USA. Liberty Partners will continue assuming its social responsibility by supporting and participating in such programs targeting the development of young Mongolian leaders in the future.

Press Release - In response to malicious allegations regarding Liberty's railway project engagement

In an article dated May 15th, 2014 published by Mongolian media outlet “Morning News” ("Article"), it accuses Liberty of misconduct and further attempts to cast doubt on Liberty’s integrity with purported reference to the awarding of an Advisory Contract (see below) in 2011. Liberty absolutely rejects these accusations contained in the “Article” and views these baseless accusations as a clumsy attempt to undermine Liberty’s credentials, obscure the true facts, attempt to demean and bring into question the accomplishments of Liberty in the minds and face of public and Liberty’s partner organizations.

Liberty sponsors Mongolian Young Scholars Program

August 2013

Liberty co-sponsored the Mongolian Young Scholars Program (“MYSP”) that took place in Nairamdal International Children’s Center during July 1-10, 2013. MYSP helps Mongolian high school students to achieve their full educational potentials.  MYSP is aimed at educating Mongolian high school students about the U.S. higher education experience, college application process and requirements, among other important aspects for the students. Since 2011, MYSP has been bringing 30 Mongolian students for a seven day intensive academic experience each summer. The programs are taught in English by undergraduates from leading U.S. and international universities. MYSP is administered by the Zorig Foundation.

Liberty engaged on New Railway Project

June 2013

Liberty Partners undertook a local advisory role to a consortium of BNP Paribas and Guggenheim International on the New Railway Project. The consortium will assist the client, Mongolian Railways, in raising debt and equity financing along with providing other financial advisory services. Guggenheim International is an international arm of Guggenheim Partners, a US based global diversified financial services firm with over US $200 billion in assets under management. BNP Paribas is one of the world’s top project finance banks and fifth largest in global banking, and has previously been mandated as one of the lead arrangers in Oyu Tolgoi project finance deal.

Liberty engaged by Seabury APG of US

January 2013

Liberty Partners undertook a local advisory role for Seabury APG LLC in its efforts to develop a turnaround plan for MIAT Mongolian Airlines from October 20th, 2012 to December 31st, 2012. Within the Project scope, Liberty assisted Seabury to accomplish Project successfully by identifying and managing multiple internal and external stakeholders, assisting in data collection and processing, preparation of necessary document and facilitating coordination between different parties. Project ended successfully and Business Plan produced by Seabury and Liberty was approved by the MIAT Board and handed over to MIAT management for further implementation.


Liberty co-hosts first International Project Finance Association (IPFA) conference in Mongolia

September 2012

Liberty Partners co-hosted and organized IPFA Asia’s Conference focused on Financing Projects and Investment Opportunities in Mongolia in collaboration with Rio Tinto and Sidley Austin on 27th September 2012. The IPFA is the largest and the only international, independent, not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of private companies and public sector organizations in Project Finance and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) throughout the world.

Liberty engaged by Mongolian Railways as part of advisory group led by McKinsey&Company

August 2011

Liberty Partners undertook a local advisory role for the advisory group led by McKinsey & Company in developing an overall commercial and ownership structure for the New Railway Project, facilitating interface between the Project and all relevant local stakeholders among other works. Other members of the advisory group include BNP Paribas, one of the world’s top project finance banks and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, New York based American law firm.
